Here's his thread.. couldnt find a How-to for it, but maybe reg up and shoot him a pm? or i even could for ya if you would like. http://www.f150online.com/forums/1997-2003-f-150/438847-how-black-lightning-corners-should-look.html could be more of a pain in the ass for what its worth, but would look clean imo.
heres what he pm'd me: All I did was bake one corner at a time in the oven. Preheat to 200*, then once it's cycled, place the corner on a cookie sheet for 6-7 minutes with the oven still on. After you remove them, use a large flathead screw driver to pry off the lens working from one corner around. You will eventually be able to it off with you fingers. Run the lens under cold water for a minute or so, and place the housing in front of a small oscillating, fan you have one. I used a 3"x3" square of 400 grit sand paper folded in half to sand the inside of the lip. Make a few passes all the way around, trying not to back track. After sanding, take some thin foam or just masking tape and tape off both the front and back of the lens itself, leaving only the inside of the lip exposed. I used Krylon Fusion gloss black spray paint. Just make a couple of passes on each side, one by one, while holding the can at an angle. Spray from both sides, if you know what I mean. I've them a good 24-28 hours to dry, then they are ready to seal back up. For the resealing, you can either reuse the original silicone, or use some new. I personally chose some black RTV to ensure a complete black look.
Great build man, looks forward to progress. its a simple process thats what i did to mine to paint my heads and corners black.
Yes, its not too hard, jake. i've helped a buddy black his out. Came out nice. Just wasnt 100% sure how he had done the trim on the corners. Debating smoking my second set of L heads/corners i bought.. that didnt fit the 4x4... lol
didnt fit as in didnt got in or didnt fit the look. your 4x4 would look great with some black lightning lights. oo and off topic but nitewolf just in case you dont know to debadge like discussed earlier in your thread would mean repainting your fenders and tailgate since they have alignment holes
