all 5.4's had individual coils. the 97-98 4.6's had the 2 coil packs. it gunna be a pain changing that #4 coil since it way in the back. but its still not hard. all you have to do is unplug the coil take out one screw and pull it out.
okay simple enough... look at passenger side head locate the back coil pack thats #4 take 1/4" drive ratchet with 6" extension and 7mm socket. unplug the the coil pack u may have to unplug the injector to get a good clean look on bolt.... ur gunna want to change that plug also... but get the coil off and and take 5/8" socket with 6-8inches of extension with 3/8 ratchet spray some PB blaster in the hole for the sprak plus let sit for 5 mins crack it free spray more and slowly work it back and forth 1/4 turn at a time. then with new plug never seize it and ur golden should take you roughly 20 mins
got the coil today. gonna work on it tonite when i get home and maybe in the morrning if i dont finish. just so im clear. #4 cylender is passenger side in the back? i dont wanna change the wrong one lol. also i have a BL so itll make it easier, if anything.
