1998-2002 Ford Ranger EV all electric vehicle.

Only 1,500 units were produced and in 2003-04 all units were recalled.
Several hundred units did not get scraped by FMC and have been refurbished by Blue Sky Motors of Sacramento, California.
Maybe the battery technology has advanced enough to last more than 5 years like some of the Toyota Prius nightmare repairs.

    Not Much Difference:

:hmm You can keep little sparky. I'll take a VW Jetta turbodiesel any day; equally as efficient overall, more powerful, 700+mile cruising range, no need to plug the thing in to a specialised power station.

I wonder how much that lithium/ion battery costs and how long will it last.....I'll guess: a fortune and not-long.

I think electric vehicle technology has to advance a long way before such transportation schemes become economically feasible.....and a major increase in the availability of nuclear power is a prerequisite; otherwise, we're spinning our wheels.

You can't drive them too far without charging them

Looks like you will spend more time charging than driving
