I'm over 200k and never messed with it. And it works fine.

West does ford sell the diff fluid they use? I want to get a new diff cover and I would like to avoid reusing the old stuff and other brand fluid.

Mine was changed at 45k. Ford put a different kind of oil in it after I was getting a clicking noise when I went around corners. They said some of the Limited slips had a problem with the clicking from time to time. Haven't had a problem since.

I know a guy that pulls a trailer everyday. His rearend went out and the tech guy that put the new one in said to change it every 20k, since he pulls a trailer everyday. He said that the rear end is the hottest part on a vehicle and that the oil breaks down just like motor oil.
