Ok, so I have a dilemma. I'm going to be buying new rims/tires for my truck, but I'm not sure if I should go with 17s or 18s, and if I should go 9" or 10" wide. Tires are going to be approximately 33"s, maybe a bit bigger. What size rim do you think I should go with? I want absolutely no rubbing, and will have a leveling kit. Also, what offset will I need? Or will that matter as long as backspacing is roughly 5"? Thanks in advance for your advice.
I went with 17x9 cause they are cheaper and cheaper to buy tires for. If your never going to run anything else but 33's then it's a good look. I like more tire and less rim personally. My wheels just so happened to be 18x10's when I got the truck. I wouldn't have bout them that size.
I'm with west. You have better choices with the 17's instead of the 18's plus you get better pricing with 17's. I also like the larger sidewall look and that will look a lot better with 17's
i say 18x10. 18" rim on a 33" tire still gives you 7.5" of sidewall, more than you're average curb so you wont get scuffs so easily. 10" width in case you ever wanna run some 325/13.5" width tire.
Everything about 17s are cheaper but I went with 18's anyway. Check the tires that you want to run and see what sizes are available. That may have some influence on your decision. Backspacing and offset are functions of one another (wheel width influences this also). You can't have a large offset with big backspacing unless you are going + offset. I would go with a 9" wheel. You will probably have rubbing issues with a 10" and not all 33's are recommended for mounting on a 10" rim.
I've had 325/60/18 MTZ's (33/13.00)on my 18x10's 4.5 BS with a 2.5 level kit. Only had to trim the left lower valance a 1/4 inch. It only rubbed going backwards at full lock. Now I'm running 35/12.50/18's fyi
