yea, its pretty deep in the Tech section. I brought all my tech write-ups from the Crappy forum over here when West asked us to make this a tech forum, and not a party forum. lol. I'll be doing more write ups now that the weather is getting nicer.

I guess I could do that. I was really planning on having them come on when I unlock the doors though... I added the back up lights to my bumper already, so I don't really need the extra light...

They still do when you wire it the way i have (atleast I thought they did). I guess I'll have to check that when I walk out to the truck here in a sec for lunch.

The extra light for backing up isnt for the rear end, its for the sides of course. I have a really small driveway mouth, but it opens up double wide in front of the garage. I didnt want to be backing out half across the yard when I leave for work @ 5am so thats why I wired them up as such.

So if you wire it up like I stated, then you dont get the "on" when unlocked feature like you are seeking. I can find the wire you need later today when I get home. I am sure there is one in the bundle that runs under the door sill step.

Tapped the wire (purple/green I think) and ran it hot to a switch on the dash with an inline fuse. It's grounded the same way the signals are.

I did a switch cuz I don't have the rear defrost and wanted to be able to leave the mirrors on as long as it takes to melt the ice.

Just do what i did with my mirror housing man(same as your puddle lights)if you want them to come on when you unlock and lock your truck.I ran a wire to the brown wire in the light switch and hooked both of them up together and they come on when i unlock and lock my truck and stay on while i drive.

    :batman2: idk...

I'll probably get back into it this weekend and figure something out. I got my EC rear mirror yesterday and am waiting for my gauge pod to come in.
