I'm hoping gas goes up again, then prices of trucks go down so I can pick me up a newer truck at a great price, then gas prices can come back down haha

If we went a week without buying gas the oil company would **** a brick lol

And if we go on a gas strike the price will rise so they can make up for one day

These gas prices are due to speculation. Europe gets most of its oil from Libya, Since Libya's collection of crude is limited right now Europe has a higher demand for oil. They have actually lowered speed limits in order to conserve fuel economy. So with a potential higher demand for crude oil, our costs go up. Good news though, Oil went down $.43 a barrel today.

Lets break it down shall we? On our other truck that we drive mainly for work (hauling, hardware store runs etc) we drive about 2000 miles a month so at 12 mpg, that's 166.7 gallons a month. Diesel was at 3.20 to 3.50 so lets pick 3.30 per gallon, that's about $550.00 a month for diesel. with the current price at about 4.10 per gallon that's $683.47 a month, that's about 133.50 difference. That's about 30 extra dollars a week for diesel, now given the rest of the costs of doing business that is a drop in the bucket. Now I'm sure the person doesn't drive 2000 miles in a month. I have a 20 mile commute 1 way, I average about 1000 to 1500 miles in a month so 65-100 extra dollars a month isn't going to break the bank.

Now consider the average Data cell phone plan is a little over $100.00 a month, cigarettes cost $6-$8 a pack, and beer is $5-$10 for a 6 pack. Everyone doesn't ***** when beer costs $1 more than it did a week ago, or when cigarettes get yet another tax tagged on to them, but when something you ACTUALLY need goes up, everyone gets in a tizzy. Bottom line, the media is making these numbers look scarier than they actually are by starting every newscast with "Gas prices spike yet again!" or "Higher prices at the pump!". We all know the solution, but the "Weenies in Washington" as quoted above, wont do it.

I agree...it cost me 90 bucks to fill up my truck today...I don't like it but I deal with it because I still need gas in my truck, the other side of decatur is a long ass way to walk to school 4 days a week
