Looks really good man. I've been wanting to paint my "wood grain" trim on my interior for quite some time, but I was never too sure what to do with it. But I think I have found out now what I'm going to use.. I also have the "chrome" vent covers/shifter/handles. So I might do those too. We'll see. ha ha. I want to see how your steps turn out first. How do you think this stuff would hold up on something like the shifter or handles?
Looking forward to the pics man.My vent bezels will also be getting done this summer.Along with some other interior trim pieces.
I dont think this would be wise on your "wood grain". as far as this holding up on the handles and shifter i think it would be fine. you do put 2-3 light coats, and then 2-3 heavy coats of clear on so i'm sure it would be durable. I can't wait to put the steps on. it looked good last night in the garage w/ the shop lights. I didnt go as dark as i did the vent trim pieces. actually think i made them just too dark. but trial and error right? Pics around 4cst
How come you don't think it would work out on the wood grain? Would it possibly not adhere properly? Or is there some other reasoning for it?
this stuff isnt like paint. its actually transluscent. it would just make your wood grain a blueish-grey wood grain then. atleast i think thats what would happen. i mean, when i paint w/ rattle can, you can see the new paint eventually overtaking the old paint, and not seeing anything behind it. w/ this stuff, it would be like mixing wet paint, not painting over dried paint. does that make sense cuz i confuse myself sometimes oh its light out... but i left home to go to work @ 545a. I'll be leaving the office @ 230 CST and then i'll have pics of them around 4, installed back on the truck and everything. simmer down nah, simmer down
