Go with the leather roll up, I had a fiberglass one for a week then sold it due to i could carry any thing tall, then i bought a folding one and couldn't fit my 4 wheeler with it on. So if you plan on using your truck as a truck get the roll up one. Just my $0.02

You got better mileage with the tailgate off?

That's been proven to be a myth and that you actually got better with it up (aerodynamics and bed air pockets and the like). Mythbusters even did it with F150's.

I wonder what makes it work on your truck? I ran without one for years.

Myth busters did it with the tail gate down not off. And yes with it down it creates more drag and you loose mpgs with it off you have less drag.

Whatever you do, don't get a fiberglass cover. I have one and when I went to pick up my tires after being mounted I couldn't even fit all 4 with the cover closed...loses a lot of functionality. But they aren't that difficult to take off, just need a buddy to help and it takes 2 mins. And they do look pretty good :waytogo:
