thats where i went to get mine. i looked right at those but then i saw the 12v diodes so i figured they would work. ill go get a package of them tomorrow. i did solder the one i bought in-line with the stripe towards the radio on the red wire. well see if that helps. i dont know what is going on. the truck dies if i dont drive it enough and its a bradnew battery.

hey man. my fricken battery died again on me on my truck lol i went out and bought a diode. what rated diode should i use? i bought a 12v didode that supports 21mA and a max power dissipation of 1W

haha thats crazy! yea you have to be careful when working on someone elses car for sure. my uncle is pretty cool about stuff. before i work on anyone elses car ill make sure i have everything i need and all the wires located before i start the job.

It took a little while longer to find everything, i didnt have a picture of where the harness was located or where the anti theft thing for the key was either. i think the remote start has a voltage sense but i may hook the tach wire up just to be safe. i agree, people get scared if you just mention anything. But i like it, I figure you cant learn if youre not willing to jump in and tackle something especially in electrical. Im getting addicted to it now haha im now looking for my 3rd install, trying to get my brother to buy one for his car lol. I thought it was kinda odd that my uncles regular remote worked to unlock when the truck was running, but the two wires for the door unlock was simple and took but 5 minutes.

Roush thanks again for helping with the few questions i had on this one and again for the help on the mustang. ill be certified in Automotive Electrical by the end of this semester of school. so i might start doing this regularly.

finished the job with no problem but im a little confused with the tach wire. i thought the remote start wont work without this wire hooked up or is this wire jsut to help prevent something? the system is working fine without it. Door locks were simple but its odd, my uncles unlock button on his normal key fob works fine when the car is running but i still set up the stater remote unlock option.

Its not a diesel...i wish it was. its a fricken gas V10, sucks gas like mad. this is his second V10 gas F250. i told him to buy a diesel.

ahhh ok. i was wondering why my girlfriends doors wouldnt unlock. so the reason my doors unlock while the truck is running is because they cut a wire when they installed my remote start. i understand now. im looking and looking for the purposes for these other wires that i didnt use on the mustang just to educate myself but i cant find info on them anywhere. i figured the door lock and unlock was a simple 1 wire connectioin and ihad them highlighted on my print out sheet of the 250s wiring system. i really appreciate all the help youve given me roush. This stuff is so simple to on your own with a little knowledge...cant believe dealers and installers charge so damn much to put one of these units in.

hey roush got another question to pick your brain. just going over everything for the install of the remote start in my uncles 250. im thinking about hooking up door locks so he can lock/unlock with the remote starter remote.

If i decide not to do this like i did on my girlfriend mustang how do i get the doors to unlock with the normal car remote if the ignition is on? and what is the purpose of the wires that are labeled factory alarm arm and disarm?

yea thats what i bought. i had already done all my research and ordered the unit and bypass for the truck, it should be here tomorrow. i bought the PKFM, same unit i used for the Mustang, it says it covers up to 2009 Ford vehicles. i thought maybe he was trying to sell some old stock lol but just checking. I was curious as to what they charge to install them. he said i was looking at $309 with a similar unit to the Python Responder 1 (they dont carry it) but he also told me it would be an extra $45 to hook up the door locks. Those two extra wires for $45, thats crazy.

Hey roush just wondering if i could pick your brain again. I just talked to my uncle who wants a remote start put in his truck, i told him about the unit i just installed and ordered him the same unit as well as a bypass. His truck is a 2008 f250 V10 gas engine. im confident with installing the unit now that i know what has to be done especially since its the same unit i just installed lol.

I called ABC warehouse to get an estimate on how much it would cost to have one installed out of curiosity. now the guy asked me if the key for the truck has an "H" or an "S" on it. he said depending on which one it had i would have to buy an extra key as well as a bypass from them. Im curious as to what this guy is talking about? Is he feeding me a load of crap? i read about some bypasses needing an extra key to work but i bought one that doesnt require one and thats what i just intalled in the Mustang. Thanks again for any info.
