i can telll you a very easy way to test rod bearings without pulling the caps off....it will tell you if there good or bad... ... Rotate crank...
the push rods look good(i guess fords dont push the oil through the push rods like chevys??)...before you put them on roll them along a flat...
you need to check the bottoms of the lifters... and make sure there is no cupping ..or alot of wear...... on the pushrods ... be sure you clean...
i would bet there more miles on this engine than you think...... i would inspect it more.. and atleast go pick up a new timing set... or atleast a...
......hmmmm...if you bought it like that ... with the chain that loose .. and they said it was new.. i dunno.... .. have you pulled the lifters...
there not harder... just more to go wrong... chevys are cheaper and more compatible...you can take start off small block and put it on a big...
haha well ive always had a ford truck...but there too high priced to work on ... and chevys are just so much more compatible with each other.. so...
