Another cold case warmed up and put to bed Lol
Runs fine at shutdown and then retires... I'm gonna speculate again and say the rod bearing was on its way out and landed in a funny spot jamming...
Ahh gotcha, just wondering if ya had sticky valves if there was any extreme buildup of pressure and heat... damn man, that's a mindbender... Idk...
Lol! Yeah there's so many things that could've gone wrong there, I woulda had to look at everything directly connected to that piston and figure...
Now I just gotta get a big mirror mounted on a tripod so I can watch my headlights
Strange how keeping up with the fluid levels keeps things working! Lol
Lol, i kid i kid... How'd the cylinder wall look? Any signs of moisture in there? How bout the crank? How did the valves in the head look for cyl...
You got it bro! Ready when you are :waytogo:
Thanks man! If any one has further questions feel free to ask!
That's really friggin weird... temp was normal and everything? You really gotta get the ol lady to stop takin yer truck wheelin while you're...
Thanks man! I posted a thread in the tech info section called "wheels 101" further explaining tire and wheel fitment
Sounds good man! All my buds that plow will probably take it easy and leave early tomorrow cuz of the snow anyway
#4 piston rod?
It would have to be an intake valve that stuck open or was slow to close and seat itself just for a brief moment causing a backfire... Or! Haha...
Thanks Abe! I really got into studying differentials lately and did a gear swap on my 9.75 recently right in the garage! I'm gonna be doing some...
^^ Haha Yeah that's why I said I was speculating... This could've been the case and then again, maybe not. A gummed up valve is way more likely to...
Want to install a new set of wheels?? Can't figure out what offset or backspacing you need or want to run?? Well read on and you'll know...
So 4" backspacing? that'll work with the Rough Country 4-5" lift... I wasn't trying to correct 97 Red but I just didn't want someone that's lookin...
You hafta think about the width of the wheel also to work with a lift not just offset... Like rough country 4-5" needs at the most a 4.5"...
Woo hoo! easy fix :waytogo:... I'm gonna go ahead and speculate and say that you probably have some build up on one or more of your intake valves....
