It would have to be an intake valve that stuck open or was slow to close and seat itself just for a brief moment causing a backfire... Or! Haha...

Want to install a new set of wheels?? Can't figure out what offset or backspacing you need or want to run?? Well read on and you'll know...
So 4" backspacing? that'll work with the Rough Country 4-5" lift... I wasn't trying to correct 97 Red but I just didn't want someone that's lookin...
You hafta think about the width of the wheel also to work with a lift not just offset... Like rough country 4-5" needs at the most a 4.5"...
