I think there are just a couple bolts holding it down. Hopefully one of the other guys who have done it can chime in.
You can fit a 20" in the lower bumper really easily. A 30" will fit with a little grinding.

I would replace the shift cable and make sure it was nice and tight.
I never wanted steps on my truck, and still don't need them, but noticed my seat wearing out faster with my level and 33s from sliding in and out more

Yeah. used the same stuff I did on the trailer. Rustoleum gloss rust prevention. It's holding up a lot better than the rattlecans did.
