why dont you try to find a used upper dash panel at a junkyard and do it in your spare time? that way if it gets messed up, its no skin off your back

its probably becuase you have a custom exhaust...it should fit with a stock exhaust. also, you could just let the air out of the spare to fit...

you can actually wrap the ends of your springs in duck tape too...mustang guys do it when they take out their isos
i say leave it unless you want to do your handles as well.
