Try drilling a pilot hole the next time and you won't have to put such a load on the screw.

Tons of them out there and the sky is the limit on what you can spend on them. I just put a new Alpine unit with bluetooth in mine last week.
The metallic is probably from the reflector. Been there and done that. Water could be getting in around the bulb seal, through the connector...
