03 150 performance 4.6 questions

Hey y'all, on my 4.6 I plan to make some performance mods & wanted to see what y'all would get/do:

Heads:
Headers:
Exhaust:
Programmer/tuner:

What would y'all do? I was thinking cobra heads, new aftermarket headers, buying the programmer & doing FM 40s catback duals. And is there any good muffler shops here in SA?

longtube headers.
2.25" Dual exhaust with hi-flo cats (magnaflow universal) Magnaflow muffler also, FM sound like crap on modular motors
Get an SCT tuned by Mike at 5 Star (See his section in the Vendor threads)

How many miles? What do you use the truck for? How much money are you looking at spending?

 

I have 163 on her right now. I plan to put my low profile red/blues / siren & all if that gives a clue. But its also just for me to have fun with.

How much is each you're recommending? Money isn't necessarily an issue, though I'm not looking to spend TONS of cash I don't have. Its just for the HP kick and if I floor it I want to be put in my own place lol.

I don't really know how much all that will cost you, or what prices are down there, but I got my truck priced yesterday for a flowmaster super 40 catback exhaust si/do with tips and its gonna cost $390. And thats the cheapest around for me.

 

Yeah 350 for me on catback flowmaster 40s. Apparently the magnaflow will cost more

I walked in there thinking about 300 at the most, I think my jaw hit the floor when he said 390 for the flowmaster and more for the magnaflow. haha He told me prices go up about every 6 months.

 

If it makes you feel any better, I paid 260+ tax for the shop to run true duals from headers back and I already had the mufflers, xpipe, and tips. Thats the cheapest I could find.

On a side note, I would recommend doing longtubes with true duals and get a tuner, if you still aren't satisfied you could look at a cai, efans, larger throttle body...

Depends on which kind you get. My obx longtubes had the option of cats or not. I decided not to get them because we don't have inspection in kansas
