k well how am I supposed to look for a sound that it didnt make when I test drove it? It had no leaks on the motor no noises or anything thats why I think its the intake. I am gonna run the intake a little longer to see if the sound comes back cause it didnt make the noise today I might of heard something else but I want to be sure its the truck before I put the stock one back on.
Since when does paperwork tell you something is about to break? Let me tell you a story grasshopper... A chick I was seeing wanted to get a new ride, found a clean looking 4runner for $5000. No dents or scratches, interior was spotless, oil looked good, a little drippage on the oil pan, and no other obvious issues. Took it in and got it checked out... that 'little drip' was actually a serious issue and involved taking the front end apart, the rear axle seal was leaking and it needed a new rear axle, and about 6 other things. Totaled $6800 for repairs+labor. Now unless you pulled every wheel off, checked all the bearings, did a compression test, checked the coolant %, and tested the trans fluid for lubricity, you might want to rethink "know what to look for"
I know what to LOOK FOR. NOT CHECK FOR nn I would of check the compression etc but its hard to do that in a parking lot and im sure the PRIVATE SELLER doesnt want me to start jacking his truck up and removing **** to check it out.
that's why you take it to a shop... there's a reason they have an deal called "PRE-BUY INSPECTION" It's cuz ppl use it to check out rigs before they buy them. And if the private seller doesn't want a mechanic looking at it.....run away, or waddle, your panties seem to be bunched up today
