    I put in a bid for this 1982 F150 stepside. It's a 4x4 with a 351 and standard transmission :peace:
I know that they changed from the M motor to the W in 1982, anybody know where I can check the vin to see what motor it has? It'd be nice to know what gears too.

    VIN: 2FTDF14GXCCA41911

    No engine pic....

I found that also, but it didn't really tell me anything new... Also, there is no way it has a 250" wheelbase :jester:

well, ford referred to the M as the 5.8M, whereas the windsor was the 5.8L. Either way, its a win, I'd love to have that truck.

Most likely has either 3.50 or 3.55 gears, depending on whether it has a 9" or 8.8" rear.

I could be completely wrong though, because both engines had the same G vin code.

Yeah...and the 1982 year was when the switched motors...making it more confusing.

I'm pretty sure that it had the 9" rear end, because it's a 4x4 with a 5.8, but who knows. I was hoping for at least 3.73s... Whatevs, they'll end up being 4.56s lol

Planning on making this into an off-road rig. Get some 33" M/Ts for starters and rhinoline the whole thing, then upgrade whatever breaks :driver:
