hey guys my dad is having trouble with his truck. our family mechanic cant figure it out...

the truck feels tight when driving. nothing clunks or anything like that. however, when you turn the wheel something sounds like it is rubbing or moving around.

i took the truck into a parking lot and just turned the steering wheel so i would go in a circle, it keeps making this noise going in both directions. wheni straighten out its fine. the mechanic has pulled the front end apart 3 times already and cant figure it out. hes missing something i just dont know what.

i wont talk bad about this guy, hes a good mechanic and gets stuff done quick but he has missed things in the past. had a clunk in my front end for a hwhile. asked him to check my ball joints and everything up front. he told me everything was ok. i rechecked everything...bad drvier side upper ball joint. he didnt unload the ball joint when he checked it.

help me out guys! this is giving my dad another reason to ***** about selling the truck and buying new, its only got 117k miles on it.

does it sound any worse going on reverse? Or as the truck is driven for a length of time?

he just had one of his wheel bearings replaced by this mechanic maybe 3 months ago. it makes the noise while turnig both ways. i thought that could be it but i know he just got one replaced...that doesnt mean anything though:jester:

i dont think it has to do with length of drive time. i tried it in reverse but didnt hear a thing.
