So this was an update to the 03 trucks? Are 04 and newer F150s still having plug issues though? I thought I read that plugs were breaking trying to get them out.

Excessive carbon build up hasn't helped the problem either. That and the plugs being in too tight lead to the breakage. My dad's 04's 5.4 is about to have some plugs put in it...we'll see how that goes.

They had a problem in early 04's to(diff head design).... before you ever change them just put some penitrating oil down in there over night. There are literally millions of these trucks on the road and only a handfull with this problem. If your that concerned with it just take it to the dealer to have them change the plugs.

I think Crewger should just trust the previous owner honestly. If it comforts you, then pull a plug and take a look. I wouldn't bother screwing with all of them for just the hell of it. That's when chit usually goes wrong!

I'm just trying to educate myself about my new truck because I don't know anything about it, that is all.

Ahh, I see. I'd just read up on it like you're doing. Most of the people on any F150 forum have been through it and can answer most questions. Good luck with the new truck bro!
