2003 ford explorer xlt water pooling issue

    Hey guys I'm new to the forum. I've noticed that whenever it rains water pools up where the latch is for the back hatch, do you guys know what could cause this?

    Possibly a bad seal around the latch?

    I'm also going with a bad/misshapen/deformed rubber seal.
    If the seal is good check for rust thru
    on the metal surrounding the seal flange.
