My mom's got an '05 Escape and its not getting the best mileage, around 17 mpg (according to the info screen) it was getting above 20 mpg when we first got it, nothing has been done to it and i'm sure my mom's driving style doesn't help much but any thoughts on how to bring the mpgs back up it has around 90k on it and i figure its probably due for a tune up
Plugs, air filter, fuel filter. That's about all that you can do. Mine has never gotten very good mileage but it's 4x4 with the V6.
ours is awd v6, problem is mom only has a week left at her job with a possibility of staying on but until we know that for sure theres no extra cash for parts, so hopefully all works out and i can do a tune up for her
Run some Seafoam through the tank for the time being. That may clean up some gummy injectors and fuel filters for now. Sent from my iPhone4 using Tapatalk
My 03 is getting about 14 and has been consistently since we got it. Ive seafoamed it with no result. Ive been meaning to do the plugs, but I hear its a total B word on the 3.0 and ive been lazy. we do have 1 size bigger tires on it, but its a far cry from the awesome mileage I have heard they are suppose to get.
