They will still have to go a long way to beat the best looking ones ever made:

    and the 1969 Fastback

Mustangs are my life and I can honestly say im not a fan at all, I love the stangs right now. And IRS debate will never end. Right now a boss 302 can run with zl1s with IRS but I would never use IRS on the drag strip.

I'm pretty confident that Ford has the ability to improve performance regardless of whether the car has a solid axle rear end or independent rear suspension. That's great that the current Mustang can "run with" the ZL1's. So why not annihilate them on the road course's and drag strips rather then just "run with" them on road courses???

The IRS/solid Axle debate with the Mustang has raged on since most of you weren't even old enough to drive, and until Ford decides to pull the trigger it will spark many more a discussion. Either way Ford decides to go, I'm okay with. I was accused of being a BMW fanboy by one of the members here because I saw faults with the current Mustang platform. I'm confident that Ford knows what's best and they'll do what's best for the Mustang. It's been a major part of Ford's line up since its debut and I'm positive they're not going to sh*t the bed when it comes to dealing with the Mustang.

I love the 70's too, but the 69 has em beat on style, even with the somewhat retarded quarter scoops.
