I'll agree when it concerns the dragstrip. But in real world situations IRS is better.

    All the time...

    :jester:

Keep in mind, I'm not 18 or 19 years old. I've had more then a few cars, dude. I know the difference when it comes to IRS vs a solid axle and how they handle. I once owned a 91 Mustang 5.0, and it handled like a fugging brick on wheels. Great straight line, sh*t in the turns. I've driven new Mustangs. Yes, they handle great, but IRS is the ONLY logical progression for the next Mustang.

Oh, and that same Altima handles like it's on a rail, and gets 31 mpg. :jester:

yeah and look how it worked out for the GTO

If you watch the motortrend comparisons of the zl1 vs the gt500 and boss 302 try say that the mustang handles and steer better given its not super bumpy and that the thing mustangs lack in is brakeing.

A foxbody isn't the best to compare about a solid axle those cars could never handle haha. Even though the MII ifs is such a popular swap in everything it is farrrr from perfect.
I drove both the new mustang an camaro at Barrett Jackson an romped on em pretty good an running on the track they had the mustan felt far more composed IMO. Also hammered on the SHO and that thing is just insane. The tight part of the tracks that thing just killed it, gotta love awd. I just hope they don't lose what they have now by going IRS not only that so many will be swapped to solid axle anyway

I agree, a Fox wasn't the best comparison, but I've driven a 2007, and a 2011 on many occasions, and recently drove a brand new 2012. Like I had said, they were far better then the previous Mustangs, but there's always room for improvement. I think Ford will improve on what they currently have. I just don't see them stepping backwards with the Mustang. They've constantly improved it over the past 20 years IMO. I trust them more with the Mustang then any other Ford vehicle. And that said, I understand the concern with a drastic change like IRS.

As far as the SHO, yeah that thing is just nasty. Especially considering it's a good sized sedan. :peace:

I think it'd be awesome if you could order IRS or solid axle from the factory so you had the choice depending on what you want to do with it.

Yea honestly SHO was one of the funnest cars I've driven, paddle shifters are way fun. And the whole time you're romping it youre sitting in a nice air conditioned seat. The only thing I don't like is the shape of the back of the car

True but it's also a luxury car an performs better than similarily priced German imports
