All coils, 2wd or 4wd, are the same height. The Knuckle is 2" longer, causing the 2" height difference in 2wd to stock 4wd. The 04-08 trucks can't have a spindle lift because the spindle is attached directly to the knuckle. The knuckle is what gives the truck "lift" in the front as it gives the ball joints something to press down upon to lift the truck up. clear as mud? This is how I ran my 2wd w/ 35's. I have a 2.5 RanchoQuicklift up front, AAL in the back, and Body Lift for a 5.5" lift. There is no way the UCA would handle that much lift. That would equate to a 4.5 level, and if the BJ's get beat up from a 3", whats that gonna do?
maybe you're just using the wrong terminology. the spindle is where the front hub mounts to the knuckle. on 4wd, the cv axle mounts to the rear of the knuckle. on 2wd, the spindle mounts on the front of the knuckle, w/ the rotor held on by the HUGE nut that says DO NOT REUSE. Take a look at 4wd lift kits, and 2wd lift kits, and you'll see the knuckle is not only taller on the 4wd, but it has a gaping hole in the middle, where the spindle is actually mounted for the 2wd.
oh, lol. you scared me there for a second. i thought someone was smokin the northern lights, not watchin them
well i just thought it's called spindle lift because on a lifted spindle the spindle is dropped down giving you your 3.5" of lift. and no one does 2" body lifts ak lol
thats correct. a spindle lift actually drops the spindle in relation to how it was mounted onto the knuckle. this is similar to spindle drops for classic chevy/fords. the spindle in that case is raised, lowering the ground clearance of the vehicle. for the 04-08, the spindle can not be repositioned on the knuckle, atleast they don't have any kits like that i should say.
