^X2. many many many people have lifts and have never had problems like those. i'm not saying trust us over your mechanic always but in this case he doesn't really know
Dude, like me and you talked about.Go with a 6 and your 35's,get a tuner and at some point get 456 gears. All good kits will come complete. N no offence to your mechanic, but you will not have to rebuild your rear-end.He don't know what he is talking about.Hell two of my previous trucks i ran 6'' kits and never once did i have to rebuild anything and i would off road them hard.So just go with the 8'' Rize,i mean the 6'' kit,lol...
yeah man he has never done a lift kit before. He said that if I get new gears I will need a new transfer case also?
Dude,ya won't need a new transfer case.U will be fine...When you get a chance, ask him why you would need a transfer case?I'm curious as to why he would say that....
ok so If I get the lift what should be done? New Gears? Heavier Brakes? Also what do I have to buy to put new gears in, just the new gears or do I need something else too?
Definitely end up doing gears. You can end up doing a brake upgrade if you want. I didn't do one on mine just upgrade the pads an rotors.
so what will I need for new gears and around how much will it cost (without labor because my very close friend is a mechanic) I found some for like $300 but didnt know if that was the right thing.
