Ok I told my buddy what his 6.0 will sound like straight piped so now he wants it and I'll be getting the stuff to do it in a month or so

So to the question I'm straight piping this

But I need to know what this is ....... Is it another muffler or a cat or something and will I need to remove it for sound I have never done exhaust on a diesel truck but I have done engine work and tuning ( pump and electronic)

And here is the muffler I will be cutting off

He wants it like mine before the tire at a 45 degree angle and I told him I will be putting on a black 5 or 6 inch tip. I also said if he is tip horny I'll put on a 8 or 12 inch tip lol. So I have it planned out and measured for pipe I'll need a 45 degree bend and about 20 or so inches of straight pipe unless it is ok to remove that thingy that I'm asking about.

Thanks for any help and I will be doing a tech info write up on it when it is done

And for those who don't know what my exhaust looks like or can't figure out what I'm talking about here is a pic that u can see my tip

as far as i remember that is a part where the unburned or burned fumes go and it builds up as carbon and its very hard to get rid of, and like i said as far as a i remember it is

so it would smoke a bit more with it off??? he kinda likes black smoke for the same reason i do lol............. pull up next to a ricer thats pissing you off and smoke him out if he has his window down LMAO

But he doent wanna roll coal and neither do I cause it is pointless and doent prove anything other than you have a diesel. And it doent mean power but kids think it does. But on tractors it kinda means power cause it shows you have tuned it to get a little bit more fuel than stock to get a bit more power but never turned up to roll coal.

If its for built up carbon mine didnt have one, unless its something 6.0 specific. Mine still doesnt have it with a 4 inch turbo back.
