im going to be swaping out the m50d out of my 93 f150 4.9l to the zf transmission. should i get the transmission a mild rebuild before i put it in or can i just shift through the gears and tell if everything is good and just throw it in the truck? the guy i got it from beats on his stuff so im leaning towords the rebuild but i dont know yet. now do i have to swap my transfer case because the zf transmission came out of a 89 f250 and i know the transfer case shifting is different between the years.

    which kit should i get?

Yes, definitely replace things like syncros and bearings. you'll kick yourself in the butt if you dont and you find it's hard to shift under load. You shouldnt have to change the TCase, as both should be BW 1356's.
