So this was probably the easiest mod I have done to date on the truck. In the same difficulty level as installing interior LED bulbs. So my truck came w/out fogs. No bumper, wiring, lights... nothin! I bought a painted bumper, bought all the factory light components from tasca, and then wired everything up. For a ground, I tapped 2 holes in my frame rail and grounded there, one on each side, for each light. For power, I ran from the driver side over to the passenger, splicing, then ran up & behind the battery tray, and into the grommet (there are 2, the lower is a main battery feed to the fuse box, so use the top grommet). After getting the wire through (the grommet is already a tight fit w/ the factory wires) I then simply stripped the end of the wire, exposing it from the coating, and then just pushed it into the top right opening in that pigtail. After that, the only thing to do is pull out your regular non-foglight headlamp switch and replace w/ a pull fog light headlamp switch. Its as simple as that. The hardest part was finding what relay tripped every time engaging the foglight switch so I knew where to tap it. Works just as factory. Wont come on unless in atleast parking light mode, and shuts off w/ auto-lamp settings just like the headlamps/parking lights do. Enjoy. ps. i can get more pics if need be. just let me know. Thanks!
lol i think i miss read hahaha good job though...i thought itd be harder to add them..but you made it sound easy
i thought it was gonna be hard too, like having to wire from the fuse to the new headlamp switch w/ fogs, but damnit if ford didnt prewire everything into one major harness. like i've stated before, my 2wd even has the 4wd switch clipped behind my coin holder. Gotta love ford! on a side note, how was the pass? i'm jealous i couldnt make it out... but Fathers day is lookin real good still.
it was fun go look at the flex thread i put a couple pics in there...it was packed but still fun...i went down a couple trails tha idk how i made it
