Huge, high-flow conical air filters are the first step to increased airflow to the engine. Steel heat shields or molded plastic air boxes keep hot air out and fresh, cold air flowing to the filter. One thing to keep in mind, the horsepower and torque gains claimed are more than likely their gains seen with diesel vehicles, I would NOT expect to see those gains from just installing an intake on ANY gas vehicle, no matter what intake or vehicle it is.

 

I honestly don't know, but I will check. What year make and model would that be in? It might make it easier for me to find the right part number if available...

Why does the stage 2 si have the lowest gains and cost more

 

Actually the Stage 1 has the looowest gains, but yeah, IDK...

I honestly stopped believing actual claims from intake companies long ago...lol


As for the 4.2 application, I can find them available in some form for just about every other Ford engine, but cannot for the life of me find the 4.2 anywhere, I will have to call AFE directly and find out so give me a little bit...
