I am not very familiar with your style truck, hopefully someone else will chime in. Are your DRLs the same lights as your headlights? If so it wont be so bad for HIDs as long as you give them warm up time before shutting them off. I have the auto lights and once it gets dark enough my lights kick on. Every now and then it kicks on and off due to being in the shade and then back in the open. If you get a reputable set of HIDs they will come with a lifetime warranty.

They should be fine with DRLs. Like James said, it's the constant on/off that kills HIDs, they need time to warm up. Talk to your fellow canuks and see what they say.

Ok, so with DRL's your not running with full power to the lights which is bad for the HID's. To fix this use a relay harness to draw power from the battery instead of the old bulb plug.

^ I wouldn't run a HID kit without a relay, the relay keeps the wires in your stock harness and HID harness from frying due to initial power to power up the HIDs. ( that's how I understand it)

Could you post a pic of the DRLs on. Is it a separate bulb than the headlight, or just less juce when the headlights are not on.

i dont know how that would work. never dealt with a F150 with DRLs. may half to get a volt meter and see how many volts are going to it during DRL and contact your choice of HID supplier and see what they think.
