I have to agree with Vano on this one though i think you'd be happier with an 11-12" wide tire over that 12.5 and they are usually a little wider than that. But the main factor is the weight issue 35x1250 is just flat out heavy. If MPG don't matter then go for it!
ah, i didnt check if there were any in that size, just assumed there would be. well hell, that small 17" rim is really restricting the size of tires you can get... you should find someone selling a complete set, rims and tires, and UPPPGRAAAAAYEED

im gonna go ahead and get em, i mean if im disappointed i can always downgrade. plus i plan on regearing anyway to restore some power
^^^ call my bluff. however, i never said there WERE 305/75/17, just suggested he should get that size as it would be a 34.9/12.1 tire and would fit on his 8.5" rim. if you went to an 18" rim, you would barely notice the difference, but would let you get SO many more tire sizes than you can now. but like you said, you can always resize/swap if you dont like them.
