now im a die hard ford fan and owner but i do work for gm haha just curious if any one has run into the inj pumps failing at 50,000 miles on the 2012 duramax cause tomorrow i will start on one. gm say to replace and clean the entire fuel system this job pays 30hrs ill take pics on what i go through

I used to work for GM, but never on any diesels. I was familiar with their passenger cars mainly. Specializing in J-Body, W-Body, K-Body, F-Body etc. Hopefully their product line has improved since I have left. I do like the new C7 Corvette, but never really got a chance to get into the Y-Body cars.

I don't see how a new Duramax would need an injection pump at 50,000km. Did this guy run a tuner? Is the new Duramax 6.6 equivalent to the PowerStroke 6.0 or the current Cummins 6.7? I hear a lot of problems with diesels these days, they're getting more and more powerful but more and more complicated. If I blew up anything on a diesel at less than 300,000km I'd be pissed.

 

gm has not told us what is causing this but, from what i can see the diesel fuel was very dirty this is the second truck ive seen where the inj pump was damaged but they used farm diesel the guy put a wix filter on it and then said 3 day later it wouldn't start. but tmr its all going back together got a truck full of parts
