The ones I listed above use 9 watts to produce the same light output as a 40 or 60 watt bulb! says if ran for 3 hours a day it will cost 11 cent a hour and be $1.08 a year. as of now I have on in each gate pole, they stay on all day/ night. Then I have one over the kitchen sink that stays on all day, I have one in my den that stays on at night, and last I 2 in the flood lights for the dogs. I hope eventually its all worth it on the electricity bill
I swapped my entire house over to the twisted florescent bulbs about 1.5 years ago and it made a huge difference. I can only assume that LEDs would be even better!
Well update, I have found a 2 pack of leds for 20 bucks shipped! Amazon.com: LG: 2 Pack LED Lighting Innovator A19 Bulbs - Uses 7.5W: Home Improvement I ordered 20 packs ( 40 bulbs in all) last week, I installed all but 3 today. They are plenty bright and only 7.5 watts! Here is my apartment I rent out, everything is leds!
