My 99 f150 needs a new transmission. it had a 4spd automatic, but i was wondering if i could put a manual in instead. is that doable? also, would that cost more than just getting the automatic? im asking cause i have a manual transmission available to me, for a few hundred, and would really like to make that work.

What other parts/kits do i need to get to convert it if it is possible.
thanks for all replies.

PS. i am ok with cutting parts of the truck body if it is required.

it is doable. theres a guy that swapped a zf5 into an expy.

youll need a new computer for sure to match the trans

^x2 the computers would be the worst part. there so inconsistent it would be hard to get it electronically matched to the engine

That would be a lot of work. I would just get a different truck, or if want a manual put a Cummins in it lol. Make it worth the time.

cummins ftw! i know that may be out of your price range, but it sure would be cool as hell
