Backup camera kicking my butt...

Hmm... I'll guess I'll hook that up to the acc. I didn't think I needed too. I thought that was only if I wanted the deck to switch automatically.

 

Getting ready to throw it all in the trash and give up on a camera.

From the deck I hooked up the "reverse" wire to the red acc wire. For the camera I ran a hot straight from the battery to the camera and grounded it to the frame in back. And I still have nothing. Not sure what's up. There's power at the camera when I put the volt meter on it. Not sure what it could be. Rca is good to. Unless my camera is faulty?

 

Do you have any pics of the camera and wiring? Where did you get it from?

 

Amazon. It's cheap so I wouldn't be surprised if that's the reason.

 

I'll try and get some pictures up tomorrow. It's just a esky license plate one.

 

So I finally got back to trying to fix this. Been busy with other projects. Turns out it was a bad rca. Can't believe it. All that trouble and headache. Tomorrow I'll tackle the back up lights. All the wire is already ran. Just need to mount the lights. Should be easy enough.

 

Bingo, RCA was bad.

Yeah must have gotten damaged on the install. Not sure how or where. Just glad I got it figured out. With this warm weather I need to get on some of the other projects I want to do. Need more lights.
