heres my thread on how im doing it. i know its supposed to be the big 3 upgrade, but i had some extra cable, so i made some extra solder i used. torch used to melt solder. its a little overkill 7ft. of 0 awg wire with ring terminals. first one i did was the frame to body wire behind the passenger front tire. the next ones were battery negative to body and frame. the ones on the battery didnt come out like i planned. i misjudged the length of the wires so i wasnt able to hide the wires like i wanted to. then i did motor to frame. both the motor and battery to frame were grounded on the stock location in the passenger side front wheel well. im not finished because i still need to get the battery to alternator. but that may be a while because i have to take the S/C off to get to it. heres where i got the wire. he sells different colors. i got 7 feet of black for the grounds and i havent decided how much I need for the red positive wire. very nice stuff. I have a FNG question... what is the Big 5? I can see that it is grounding, but what is the need/driver behind super grounding everything? Thanks for helping the stupid new guy!
^its so the main electricity can flow better. If you have a big sound sustem, lots of lights they will all strain the system sucking for power, with biger wires theres notca problem. When i did mine i cranked up my subs up, my idling voltage went from fluxuating at 10-15 to not even goin below 15 And boom goes the dynamite.
Really? Good to know, light bar and some illumination were my next goodies. This guide rocks Six, I will follow your lead preemptively then.
^Ive got 2 10in subs, 4 hella 700s, 4 hella 500s and a 42in LED light bar...everything but the light bar draws a ton of power.
thanks guys! i updated the original post with links to where i got the wire and terminals if anyone wants to do this mod. let us know how your wiring goes ZBT.
