Hey fellas, I'm new here. I have a 1999 f150. When I apply the brakes, the brakes work fine, but when I lift my foot off the brake pedal, the brakes stay engaged and the pedal does not return. I have to put my foot under the pedal and pull up, then the brakes release. Any ideas???

    Welcome Mitch.

Look at the pedal assembly under the dash to see if
The pedal return spring is broken.
If it isn't broken, the master cylinder shaft is sticking in it's bore.

Ok, thx, I'll check spring out. If it's the master cylinder shaft sticking, what is the fix? Replace master cylinder?

How much contamination is in the master cylinder resevoir?
Maybe you can flush it out by gravity bleeding it and working the piston with fresh clean fluid in it.
