Instead of the pvc I went the drain coupler / flex hose route with my mod and have not had a single problem out of it. I've got a buddy getting ready to replace his 5.4 with only 74k miles on it. Something has happened to his factory engine that has caused it to lose oil pressure in the left bank. His phasers go to hell and his engine starts hammering like hell intermittently after it warms up and he comes to an idle/stop. He's carried it to 3 different places for diagnosis and all of them have come back with... new motor. He's not exactly happy about the situation.
Something internal caused it to lose oil pressure on the left bank. Could be oil passages stopped up or a bearing issue.
Yeah, oil passages on the 3 valve heads leave a lot to be desired. At this point, the damage has unfortunately already been done. He's having a Jasper engine put in it.
So your saying don't even try to see if it throws codes should just go ahead and get them to retune them?
Everyone knows that these trucks run lean anyway and that a CAI makes that worse. I wouldn't want to be driving mine around right on the hair edge of throwing a lean code, if you know what I mean.
Yea....ok I will call them back tomorrow and tell them to go ahead and get started. So the day I download the new tunes to the Gryphon, install the CAI and THEN plug my programmer in and program my truck again right?
