as long as its long enough to stick well above the cab, with my buddy's there will be times when we're going down the road that i can still see him but we cant communicate, before when he had longer antennas, before he broke them, we could talk to each other at our houses and we live about 10 miles apart
check walmart, i got my cobra 19 for $30 there, it works great but if you can get one with an RF tuner that would be better, with mine i can hear tire hum through the speaker when i accelerate
