I'm thinkin about getting the Midland 1001Z. I need some help brainstorming mounting locations, I have a manual trans and manual 4x4, so vertically mounting on that bottom part of the dash is out of the question. The radio is 5 x 7 x 2 inches, so it won't fit in the cubbyhole below the ignition. What do you think??

    Here's what it looks like:

or you could mount it vertically on the right side of the hump, or the outside of the glove box

Some good ideas... Thanks! Still not sure what I'm going to do yet, though.
