this started the other day, my truck makes a chirping sound (sounds like a bird chirping) i haven't had time to investigate yet. only does it during acceleration under 20mph. over 20mph it stops, and if i let off the gas pedal it stops.
My dads 250 does it too. Let me know if you find out anything. We've been looking for awhile Sent from Sandals
i havent noticed when not in gear, i had it in neutral and rev'ed up and held and i couldnt hear it...humm puzzled.
i was just driving through the parking garage at my school, i cannot really tell where it is coming from. when im out in the open with the window up it sound like its coming from the rear of the truck. but while i was in the garage (i also had my windows down its almost 70 degrees dang shame to leave them up) i couldnt tell. im sitting in class now, and was running late haha. around 2:30 i get out of class for a few hours and ill look more into it then.
i think this is what i might be leaning toward (because i cant think of anything else it could be) the chirp made a lower tone when climbing up the parking garage, than when it did on flat ground. if that helps yall any.
try spraying the idler pulley with some WD-40. it's the pulley directly to the left of the alternator. if that makes the squeeking stop then get a new idler pulley, it's fairly cheap
