So does anyone have any tips or any input on removing the ugly chrome rocker panels that were installed on my truck? Im going to local body shops tomorrow to see what they think about doing it but I figure its gonna cost me an arm and a leg to have them do it. I just think they are uglier than sin and I want them gone. Uploaded with ImageShack.com
Me and a friend started peeling the edge up with a nylon knife. Then we took two pair of slip joint pliers and grabbed it and we worked together pulling them off his Dudge 1500. We found water in under the double sided tape on every panel and it hadn't rained in a week when we did it.
Elbow grease and Acetone. Never understood why people put that fugly shat on cars & trucks. Sent from my iPhone 5 using Tapatalk
Better have eaten "Wheaties" before attempting the removal. The panels we took off were polished stainless. By the time we had them off they were useless for anything else. Wait, they were useless before removal.
like most have hinted, just get a corner lifted and then pry the living hell out of them. the door wont get messed up, but those chrome pieces will so who cares. acetone/gooBgone work great. good luck de-Vato-ing your truck
