Chrome Rocker Panels

Ive heard that fishing line works but i tried it already and it broke immediately. I also heard that a guitar string will work too so i might try that.

I am a bit worried about the body panels getting bent or creased but it will still look better than the ugly stainless rocker panels. The lines dont even match up on any of the pieces, it looks like a 4 year old kid installed them.

 

don't use guitar string! that'll scratch the sh*t out of your paint lol. maybe try a heat gun? or hair dryer even

 

Use some real fishing line, like 60wt

 

nylon strings won't but the steel/nickel ones will.

 

The brute pulling it off with force using slip joint pliers works.
Maybe two pair of vise grips and gloved hands.
Yah will need two very strong people to accomplish this.

 

I went to a local graphic/vinyl shop today and the guy i talked to said hes been doing this kinda stuff for 15 years and he said its really easy, he says use a heat gun and some pliers and it comes off easy.

I also got a quote to wrap my bumpers with white vinyl and he said about $300 to do both bumpers. does that seem fair to you?

 

That sounds cheaper than getting a body shop to paint them.
