That blows! I still highly doubt that he will get 25gs though. Does't the insurance determine the salvage title? They either offer you the value of the vehicle or a lower price, but the chance to buy the vehicle back with a salvage title? Its freakin hard to sell a salvage title, especially for something like a 6,000 mile 2011 super duty.
