Just a small more amount of info on what Brian is doing: Brian is currently using V3-Rs for many builds I asked him about them and this is what he said: They are a Brand New "Retro-Fit" version of the infamous "Valeo" Bi-Xenon Projector. Designed after the Valeo, they are a bit more compact to be more "multi-application friendly" (than a "donor" type projectors) & produce an output /cutoff very comparable to FX-Rs (at 2/3 the size & half the install labor). Attached is an "output / cutoff" example..... You may be able to acquire parts & components for around $400 ("donor" style projectors, FX-R, TL, E55s, etc) for a DIY retro-fit, but the intensive labor & headache of install, alignment, wiring are worth well more than $400 alone. With my $400 base build.... you get everything installed, aligned, wired (100% plug & play), polished to showroom shine inside & out and..... a lifetime component warranty & one year labor warranty (can't even compare to a "DIY").... not to mention 7 day technical assistance (e-mail, phone or Skype) =P A decade ago, you had no choice but to use "donor" projectors for any similar type of retro-fit (ripping a projector out of a wrecked car & retro-fitting into diff headlights) & back in the day...... of those available "donor" projectors.... FX-R is one of the most desirable. However, today it's unnecessary to use donors & nearly impossible to fit a donor in some lights that the V3-R will fit comfortable (and perform equally). Overall, the newer projectors are more compatible with most applications & make retro-fitting more affordable to more people (that can't usually afford to spend $1000= on a retro-fit). For the record, I do also use "donors" (if requested), but the labor charge is "double".
yall ready for some Pix, Got em about 2 hours ago, and they are already installed! loading up pix now!
Ok, so I got this box at my back door today. lol and inside that box were these boxes And inside those boxes was all this! To get the led lights behind the projector shroud to work I spliced into the side marker light ( note the new amber 4 led flank bulbs behind black side-marker Wiring these up were exactly like my plug and play drop in kit I had from Myhids.com. I removed the old harness, installed the new one, which every wire had a tag on it stating where it went, Ex: ground, power, ballast, exct. So after around 45 min, I had removed the old lights/ wiring and installed these! HAHA, pictures dont do them justice! those are afew from today, hope to get the truck cleaned up and get some better pix. Ps: I will post night pix of the drop in lights vs the sickhid lights once I get the new light night shots. Hope yall like em!
