If there is no flashing of the test light there could be a bad ground at the coil. Move alligator clip to battery ground. Test again, while cranking motor test light probe to + of coil still no flash Wire from ignition module to coil bad or Ignition module bad Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
Now all this testing is provided there aren't any more relays interrupting wires through the security system. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
The relays in the passenger kick panel are Ford's door lock relays. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
Interrupting ignition wires I should have said. From your pics looks like you covered most of it, although there may be something hidden or overlooked. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
Thank you guys for the help and suggestions I went out and unplugged the ignition coil and tested the 2 wires in the plug when I use just the plug I get nothing when the key is in the on position and nothing when it cranks. Now if I use the battery as a ground the right wire in the plug lights up when the keys in the on position and and blinks when I try to start it. I so I'm assuming the other wire is a ground and is faulty or being cut off somewhere. If it is a ground could I just ground it out to the body or battery and get it to start without harming anything? Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
Also any idea what this thing is? It shares the same wire loom going to the coil and was just hanging down next the the engine and is so badly rusted I can't tell what it is Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
That rusty thing is a condenser. There is supposed to be a "Y" tab that grounds to the motor or coil mounting ground that has rusted off. This is why there is no ground on the - negative of the coil. Try drilling a hole in the tab that is left and attach to ground then retest ground for coil terminals. The condenser isn't to costly to buy consider a new one if this makes ground return to the negative coil terminal. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
The ignition module is good if you have test light flashing. You need that condenser in line with the ground on the coil or you will overcharge your battery causing lead plate failure and or your diodes in your alternator to fail. Don't just connect the coil negative to ground without that condenser in line with the ground terminal. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
Ok I will try cleaning it up and grounding it out. Of I can't can i just run a wire and ground it without that cause it looks like it's only job is to filter out nosie in the radio which doesn't work anyways so it's no big deal Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
