I got my fan off with a pipe wrench and a hammer. Put the pipe wrench on the nut and smack it with the hammer and that's it. No more heavy ass mechanical fan. If u decide to keep the mechanical fan, be sure to store it with the shaft pointing upwards.
Most people a controller from DCC, its about $120 for the good one. yea, i'm gonna go with DCC, gonna use their controller for the 2 spd taurus fans, its around $80, from what i've read you get what you pay for, so the $30 flexalite controllers are a no go for me
