Been a while, figured I would give an update post and some new pictures! Trucks been running well lately, swapped in new plugs, just fixed a rear drum brake that was dragging, figured the gas tanks are both holding fine(not sure what made it look like the front was leaking earlier, its fine now). Seems to be averaging around 12mpg if im not going hard or using 4x4 a lot/in snow. See how it gets after the new plugs and unstuck brakes, hopefully an improvement. Still have the leaking manifold(s) to deal with and ball joints. Found a parts truck ill be taking a couple things off(like a spare tire holder, new windshield possibly and an upper trim for it(mine is shit, no chrome left on it, leaking and covered with some awful tape(visible in pics)) by P.O., that I hope comes off without hurting the paint. To that end, the other truck is a 1996 6cyl manual single cab long box 2wd with a blown clutch and main bearing on engine, but seems in otherwise good shape. Any parts you guys would recommend looking at that are expensive/common to need replacing, that would be shared with my truck? Im not keeping the truck but rather pulling what I can then arranging for it to be taken off this guys property for scrap. This one might not show proper, as its a panorama shot. Unfortunately, we had a bunch of tree branches come down when the snow melted. They totalled my toyota, and put a decent dent into the cab of the new truck as well. Thankfully both on insurance(car is getting pay out, truck Im gonna have the body shop fix up. The new Dent. Gah. Not huge, but the paint is cracking, so might as well get insurance to deal with it before it starts rusting as well, 300$ deductible no change to rates. Bodyshop said that the bill would likely be up around 1500 after repainting the panel, so that seems like a decent deal.
