    i too have heard the the newer model 6.0l are better than the older ones

    my neighbor has one, going on 170k, it's completely stock. kind of the luck of the draw. i wouldn't hesitate to buy one if i knew the history, also i'd do head bolts, egr delete, larger diameter exhaust- it needs to breathe

    I guess Joey got a lemon then lol. His was pretty highly modded but did have head studs, egr delete and every other protective way to keep a 6.0 running and he blew it 3 times. He finally sold it and got a 7.3 now lol. But yea, if you over mod these things, your running into trouble. My reason for usually discouraging guys to get em is they're always guys about my age, who're gonna wanna soup em up. In which case, get a 7.3 or a cummins

    i have an 03 6.0 and have never had any problems out of it and it has 334000 miles on it with a custom tuned programmer exhaust and an intake

    good post west. drove 2 6.0"s today looking to buy soon. they both ran great imo and one already at least had the 4" MBRP turbo back exhaust

    The problem with the late 03s to early 04s was the torque to yield head bolts and bad head gasket design, causing blown head gaskets and cracked heads. there is also the egr valve carbon build up. All the problems were fixed by ford and navistar by 06.
